SAINT BOB of TRENCHTOWN

18x36, enamel spray paint on prepared/textured birch panel, 2013.

Bob Marley (1945-1981) is known throughout the world, not only as the most popular Jamaican reggae musician, but also as a social activist who promoted equality, freedom, and peace across all cultures and countries. His songs were often politically motivated by injustices done to people around the world, calling for action to support the poor and oppressed. Though not a canonized saint in any religion, Bob's messages of hope and love continue to inspire millions of people.
